This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Rape is a strong word. We know it and that is why first of all we want to show our respects to anybody and everybody who has gone through that unpleasant, unfair, traumatic, frustrating totally heart breaking experience. Nobody, no matter the circumstances, NOBODY deserves to even have to know of the existence of such atrocity. Someday, our kids might live in a world where forcing others against their will is unthinkable. Until that days comes, we do not want to sit down and wait. We feel we need to do something.
Art is not meant to give solutions, but we firmly believe that it can boost visibility towards pretty much anything. As above mentioned, with all due respects to those who have gone through such dramatic experience, we want to widen the definition given by dictionaries to what we firmly believe should be the real definition of the concept. Rape is not only forcing another person to have sexual intercourse with them against their will. It is way more. And we want to encourage you to share with us moments of your lives where you literally felt raped. And again: no. We are not looking for the traditional rape definition. We want to look further and see what´s out there in your minds.
Concretely, we´re looking for a concrete structure where we want to fit your definitions, and at the same time we want to honour Suzanne Lacy´s work "Rape is". The rules are easy to follow and pretty simple: the sentence will always start with the words "RAPE IS" and will be followed by "straight to the point" general or concrete sentences you think should be included. Yep. That's what we´re looking for. We want your point of view, we want your opinion, we want to hear what you guys and girls out there have to say. We´re willing to read as many definitions as possible, so feel free to post anything that comes to your mind.
We want to thank you in advance and hope you feel encouraged enough to be part of this inspirational and reivindicative creative process that we believe will help pointing out at situations that until mentioned by you had been understimated and even ignored. So, THANK YOU!
If you want to be part of it don´t hesitate and post whatever comes to mind!
Some inspiring words:
RAPE IS when your boyfriend hears your best friend was raped and he asks, "What was she wearing?"
RAPE IS when the man next door exposes himself and you feel guilty for having looked.
RAPE IS when you're walking alone, thinking your own thoughts, and a man, driving by, shouts "HI SWEETIE!"
RAPE IS when you attempt to prosecute the rapist, and find yourself on trial instead.
RAPE IS when your soldier brother goes into enemy territory and takes everything there, including the women.
RAPE IS when your eyes are apparently always confirming agreement. Even though your voice isn´t.
RAPE IS when at a bar someone "accidentally" bumps into your genitalia, breast or ass.
